Thanksgiving in DC

I walked over to Jimmy’s Grill (in the Maine Avenue Fish Market) and ate some fried catfish. This was my first Thanksgiving not to have turkey (and pumpkin pie) since I left off being a vegetarian many years ago.

Thanksgiving was a solitary meal, except for a bunch of beggar birds (seagulls, starlings, pigeons, and a crow) who were crazy for french fries. I met a nice woman the week before, but she already had T-day plans…

It was kinda cool to do something completely new for Thanksgiving.

[December update: nothing ever happened with the “nice woman”, other than a couple of dates. Onward.]
