I sold/freecycled most of my possessions when I moved to DC. Here’s a list: all my furniture, garage contents, kitchen contents, 25% of my clothes, 95% of my sports gear, home theater, stereo system, 90% of my personal and professional libraries, gold coins and junk silver.

All of my worldly possessions would have fit in a pickup truck (except for my car, which is now up for sale). It was a psychological de-burdening to get rid of so much stuff.
