I just read this clever existentialist play. The plot comprises the actions of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern when they’re off-stage during Hamlet.

Before you read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, I highly recommend re-reading Hamlet. There’s a movie version, too.
