I am a 43 year old single man who lives in the SW Waterfront neighborhood of Washington DC. I moved here in September 2008 from Bozeman MT. Living in a big city is quite a change, but I’m really enjoying it.

This blog is a semi-daily semi-random journal about my life in DC – basically a random content management system. I don’t envision many posts about politics or work or issues (etc.); if you want to hear me talk about that, see me in person.

Why “big mike – большой Миша”? I’m big (6’6″, 260 pounds) and my given name is Michael. “Big Mike” is my established blog-name. Misha (Миша), which is Russian for “Mike”, is my social name here in DC. (My family and co-workers usually call me Mike.)
